So, I was at Jenn's house today...
Jul. 15th, 2006 08:19 pmAnd I didn't go out with Ana like I'd planned, I didn't feel well. Jenn and I were discussing doing something else, so we carefully spell out "We could go to the z-o-o".
Whereupon Ana piped up "OH! I want to go to the zoo!"
Of course, when she realized that she'd made a mistake and admitted she knows that z-o-o means zoo, she clammed up and refused to talk. *le sigh*
I'll add that to the list of words I know she can read, I suppose.
On the plus side, she definitely knows the correct capitals of Canada, Belgium, and England. Now we're working on Ethiopia, because it's really fun to say "Addis Ababa", isn't it? Then I think we'll do Australia, because "Canberra" is almost as much fun as "Addis Ababa".
And she knows that crocodiles live in rivers, but alligators live in swamps. Lots of people don't know that.
The baby, for her part, has been learning how to stand independantly, how to stand up without help, how to clap/wave/give high fives, and how to sit down without plopping down.
She doesn't want me to have an easy life, that's for sure.
