And she appears to have shot up half a foot. Seriously, she's grown.

And she told me a rather amusing story about her plane ride home:

Ana: I was on the plane, and I was crying *pretends to cry for a second*, and Nanen say "You just tired, you know" and I say *pretends to cry while quoting herself* "NO I'M NOT!!!"

Me: Oh... But you know-

Ana: Ackshully, I was tired. I was very sleepy.

*giggles* That girl has the most amazing insight sometimes.

Like the time at the zoo with the screaming woman....

There was a group of people from some institution or group home, I don't know, people and their aides (or people and their charges, however you want to view this). We were eating our lunch, and they were leaving, and one of them didn't want to leave. So she sat down and screamed, and eventually I heard enough to gather that her feet hurt and she didn't want to talk to the bus on aching feet. I wasn't about to pick up and move, much though I do tend to dislike noise (the rest of the zoo was filled with a dozen and a half school groups, and they were just as loud and far more likely to randomly throw stuff or bang into us), so I just ate my lunch and explained to Ana that people don't generally like being stared at. Her solution, alas, was to keep looking back and forth, but at least it's a start.

And eventually, she came to the conclusion that "I think she screaming because she don't like that lady", which was probably the case. (At least at the time. Not knowing anything about any of these people, it's quite possible that That Lady is a perfectly nice individual and they usually get along great. Who knows? Who really cares? Point is, Ana's the most brilliant kid ever because I say so :P)

How old is she? 3? That's actually pretty empathatic (is that the correct word) for a 3 year old I believe. Or maybe I'm just entirely too used to my cousins and their self-centeredness.
