Is this some kind of sick cosmic joke? Because I am *not* amused.

Another autistic kid dead at the hands of his parents. Well. I call him a kid, I suppose he'd hit the age of majority.

These parents didn't even care about their own property, so hasty were they to off their son.

The pictures of those two people look extremely creepy.

WTF!? They're being charged with second-degree manslaughter!? They intentionally and premeditatedly burned their own son to death and they're being charged with SECOND DEGREE MANSLAUGHTER!?

Sorry. I'm just a tad pissed off, is all.

Seriously. A label of "fit of passion" doesn't work here for me. If you have the balls to plan out burning your home, it's more than a "fit of passion".

Plus, okay I don't know my law THAT well, but I thought that if a death occurs from another crime (arson here), isn't that death automatically bumped up to first-degree?

Not sure about that, but usually it DOES usually mean that the defendants are eligible for the death penalty. I'm usually dubious about the death penalty, but I'd make an exception for this case.

I noticed that. I wonder what the whole process of police photos is like. I think it makes you look extra creepy... although they kinda look extra-extra creepy.

Not that what they look like really matters. It just made me wonder.

At least this article doesn't seem at all accepting of their actions. Although it doesn't really say anything one way or the other.

Actually, that wouldn't make sense if, for example, the fire was set inentionally but they didn't know he was in there.

Maybe the sitution I just mentioned would bump third to second...

Yeah. But they had him locked in there. So... they knew.
