Yup - on the title. I'm side-eyeing the news at the moment. Looking at it through my fingers or out of the corner of my eye. And leaping for joy whenever I scramble across a smidgen of good news.

In personal news, how many nos is one expected to get before they get a yes?

I so sympathize. Job hunting is hell.

For me? It was over a 100, and took forever, but you may have better luck? On the bright side - I did get a book out of the interviewing experiences. Also, I did it back in 2002-2004, and in 2007. So it was different back then? The tech wasn't quite there yet, no Linked-In, no apps, no smart phones...

Something I can pass on, that my father finally drilled into my thick head. If possible? Try to research the job thoroughly along with the company/organization/firm, and figure out exactly what they need or the problem they are fixing - and target your resume towards fixing that problem.
I did that, and it finally landed me interviews and a job. And do not ask about salary etc, until they offer the job. (Although now, they do have to advertise salary range - per law.)

Yeah, I have multiple AP News emails - all negative, and the news on social media (reliable sources) not much better.

I find the news very frustrating.
