Oh, you should read The Color Kittens! It's my dad's favorite, though he was very annoyed when he bought it a couple years ago and they'd changed the ending. It's by Margaret Wise Brown. There are these kittens, with paint, and they're mixing colors until they get green, and it's really cute.

On a side note, are you familiar with The Little House, by Virginia Lee Burton? I got into a conversation with some people a while ago and they'd never heard of it.

No, sadly, I'm not - though I generally find that I don't like that author, so I may have seen it and passed it by.

Looking at Amazon, she's written a lot I've never heard of and am not particularly attracted to, but I liked that one (and Mike Mulligan). Could be just because I grew up with it, though. Funny how that works.

I can't remember. There's a dream sequence - I think there's one in both of them, but it's changed, or else it's only in the new one. If you wanted to post some of the lines, maybe I could tell you. No guarantees, though.

Anyone who's worth their weight in tapioca pudding* has their own library. My girlfriend and I already have three and a half floor to ceiling (minus a foot or two) book shelf units full, along with several additional books scattered through out the apartment.

As far as children's books are concerned, there are a few really good ones that I want to recommend. I can't think of them off the top of my head, but I'll try to post back here once I look them up at the library...

I don't post millions weekly. I post less than 50 a week, on average.

And I have upwards of 1000 books in this house. Very few of them, though, are picture books - and most of those are in French!

I should mention at this point that that's both impressive and enviable.

I'll leave it up to you to decide if I'm talking about both topics in your above post or just one.

You should go look in the children's room of a library for more inspiration. :D
