I'm from Oldham County - next county over from Jefferson i.e. Louisville(sorry if this is totally superfluous info, but I suppose you could be from some place like Montana and have no idea what I'm talking about). Now, however, I go to school in Virginia. I applied to Centre but even though I got in I knew I wanted to go to school out of state.
*snerk* You're right about me being from out westt. I'm from Denver. BUT, I couldn't help but laugh when you mentioned Oldham County. My aunt lives in Henry County and used to live in Oldham. *grin*
It's really a shame you don't go here. If you did, I'd hit you up for rides to her place. ;)
Why not? I'd go just because I'd find it interesting. Did you know that coffee was discovered by a shepherd who discovered that his sheep were livelier after they ate coffee beans that were growing wild? :)
....but you might just be drinking the wrong kind of coffee.
I used to be the same way--I would drink coffee only under extreme conditions (such as, half-frozen and it's the only hot drink available) and did my best to disguise the taste with lashings of sugar and cream.
Then I discovered that I was just a coffee snob.
You take Jamaican Blue Mountain whole-bean coffee, grind it yourself with a crank or burr grinder, and IMMEDIATELY brew the coffee via a drip or infusion method. I am not kidding when I tell you it tastes damn near as good as ordinary coffee smells (taken with a spoon of sugar and a mere dribble of cream).
Of course, the beans are $42 per pound, but you get what you pay for.

I'm surprised no one else has said this yet....
