There's just some things I can't read. This is one of them.
I deliberately create a little illusion in which humanity is basically good and would never do something like this. Intellectually I know it's bullshit but I tread a very fine line in which I'm scared that if I admit people can act like this, then I will go insane.

I'm not sure that's true. Of course, if by "these people" you mean "all people", I'll make a conditional acceptance of your idea until I can give it more thought.

It is also terrible that these things go on. And without the media attention would we know?
