In our CSA this month we got two little jars of pickled okra.

I have NO idea what to do with this! And I don't want to just pass it off to the nearest food pantry in the hopes that they do because a. they probably don't either and b. those jars are a perfect size.

Help???

It's just pickles; you can use it the same as any other pickle: straight up on the veggie tray, as a garnish for sandwiches, chopped up as an ingredient in tuna or chicken salad, or concealed in casseroles or stir-fry.

My dad loves to eat them with tomato sauce as a starter.
I think there are also various Greek, South African and Indian recipes that use okra, so you should find something if you search your recipe archive of choice.

Or if that takes too long, just do what [livejournal.com profile] elenbarathi says - use them the way you'd use other pickled veg!

Eat as a condiment on beans.
