She needs re-training, all right. Medical transcription, maybe? National Park forest fire lookout?

That's awful. It's not even hard to wear a microphone and turn it on.

I did that once as a sub, it's a couple minutes of set-up and then you can just ignore it for most of the day. You just need to make sure to turn it off when the kids leave for lunch (and back on afterward). I do remember the notes made a very strong point that I had to make sure to plug the device in at the end of my day so it'd be charged for the next school day, and I could see how there could be an issue every now and then where a mistake might happen, but none of that would justify taking it out on the student. This isn't even a difficult accommodation. It's not like it's okay to not accommodate just because it's a fair bit of effort, but when it isn't even hard and you don't do it, it's really hard not to think you're just an awful human being.

True. But being awful at one sort of target is awful. This is showing a deeper, more wide-spread awfulness.

Not that it's better to have a narrow bigotry and abuse pattern, but it does indicate slightly different things about her personality.

She really shouldn't be around children, but that was already obvious.

Bless their hearts...

(okay, that totally isn't native to my dialect, but it's such a beautifully useful bit of language that I have stolen it.)
