Wow. Oh and Pterry wrote an article in a journal called Folklore talking about how he uses folklore in Discworld and he touches on the idea of "white knowledge" which is all the knowledge we pick up sort of without knowing it and how folklore falls into that. Apparently he was just one heck of a voracious reader when he was younger. Ye gads, the brain on that man.
