Apparently rhesus monkeys give in to their kids' tantrums if other monkeys are watching

This makes sense to me.

Also? They're 400 - 400 - times more likely to get aggressive towards their own crying babies. This also makes sense to me, and is a good reason to reiterate that anybody who feels frustrated with their crying child should stop, put the kid down, and take a breath somewhere else. Because we're not monkeys. (No tails.)

It's one main reason why I'm having NONE. I already know that I have a high likelihood of being MISERABLE in the constant presence of a child (even passing presence makes me uneasy and I wince at baby/child noises) - and also likely to strike out at the offending noisemaker. Not mommy material here.
