Overview of the day:

Went into the city. Passed by ONE "save the animals" crazy lady, ONE group of prosteletyzing Jews, ONE political train musician, ONE group of anti-Zionist Jews, and ONE group of anti-war protesters. Also bought spicy peanut butter.

Now, about all that politics. What's up? Is today national protest day or something? All I could think of was April Fool's, but perhaps I am mistaken somehow.

*shrugs* In the spirit of the occasion, and since literally NOTHING happened interesting except reading the book that ties together "The Giver" and "Gathering Blue" (and incidentally shows that Jonas did NOT die!) and being really really bored... I give you this sentence:

There's TWO of them, Gathering Blue is the first, the second is Messenger.

Well, the sequel to The Giver is called Gathering Blue. This one was... um... I don't recall. I'll find it, hold on. *going to make a new post*

Yeah, I read Gathering Blue. I didn't realize she'd written a third already. Thanks for posting about it... it's helped me to decide that I don't need to read it very badly and so will be able to wait for one of the libraries to get a copy.

Good decision. I mean, you should read it, it does tie everything up nicely, and it's good not to leave things unfinished, but it's not worth buying unless you're one who always has to have the whole set.

I refuse to read a sequel to the Giver. ::crosses arms, all stubbornlike.:: Especially if they answer whether Jonas died or not!

What, did he get a happy tralalalala ending? Of course he did, because it was a Utopian novel. Murr. Those Who Walked From Omelas was nifty. ;-;

Well, Gathering Blue is quite good on its own, and isn't really related until this third book came out.
