I love the Honeymoon to Mars mission. (Not the least because of the very matter-of-fact way in which JMS tells us that gay marriage is the most normal thing in the galaxy.)
No, but when Captain Jack (YAY!) gives them their cover identities, he tells them they're going to be posing as a couple on honeymoon to Mars, because it's the most low-profile cover he could come up with. And with two lines of dialogue, JMS shows that in his universe, gay marriage (interacial gay marriage, in SPACE, no less) is so common that nobody looks twice. (Kind of like how the shocking thing about Susan and Talia wasn't that Susan was in a relationship with a woman, but that Susan, with her issues, was in a relationship with a PsiCorps telepath.)
I am the very model of a modern major-general I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral I know the Kings of England and I quote the fights historical From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot of news...
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse!
You're coming up on the ep that has one of the funniest damn sight gags I've ever seen in my life. :-) I won't spoil it, of course, but I will tell you this much so you'll know when to look for it... it has to do with Marcus' fighting pike, and it takes place right before the closing credits of an ep that you're coming up on (or may have seen already, actually, now that I think about it; I don't have the eps that carefully memorized).
Yeah, B5's handling of gay marriage is my all time favorite. It doesn't get any special attention, because it's just a marriage. And, of course, Marcus is so cute and funny about the whole thing. I like the comment about how their parents want them to get on with it and get grandchildren, implying that gay married couples routinely have kids in some fashion.
