Note to self:

When you're eating salsa, and you've gotten to the Dregs One Must Eat By Hand Or Spoon, and you decide, on a whim, that your nose is stuffed up, for god's sake just get up and get a damn tissue! You know this!

(Also, in case you're wondering, the same applies if you decide you need to wipe your eyes or, for some reason, touch any of your private parts. Just trust me on this and don't ask why I bring it up.)

On a semi-related note, I think I may actually have done damage to my tastebuds. The other day, I was eating Sri Lankan curry which I had, for some reason, gotten without the rice. I ate the sauce with a spoon - no problems. Attributed it to poor cooking on their part. But today, I was eating hot salsa, and the same thing! It didn't seem hot to me anymore! On the other hand, my face didn't get all hot and sweaty either, so maybe my body's just acclimated. Weird time for it to do so, though, when until the Sri Lankan thing I'd barely had hot food in months.

But, but, if you keep hinting, you must elaborate!!

Connie, that's NOT what the peppers are for! Use a damn cucumber or something.

Fucking Sri Lankan food. I swear to god, I drank a good gallon or so of water that time we went and got Sri Lankan food. Even the donut things are spicy as hell!

I like food to be tasty-spicy, not so spicy it makes you want to cry, or so spicy it hurts for a week after you eat it.

I think you HAVE damaged your tastebuds! :(

We should go out, just me and you, when I get there. We need to sit down and talk, just for the sake of talking.

I miss you!!!

That was inspired by food. What I mean is, figure out where you want to go (cheap cheap), and we'll go there.

Sorry. Tired.

NO SRI LANKAN. I like it, but seriously. Ouch.

Preferably in the city, so we can go on our way to your house, but something on SI would be all right too, I s'pose.

Cheap but nice. ;)

you do know that water is NOT good for spicey...right? milk does the trick...

Maybe your spice tolerance is increased in part because your nose is stuffed up? No idea how likely that is, but I figured I'd throw out the thought.

I love that book that your icon is made out of. =O The hungry catapillar?

When I moved to Texas, I rather randomly acquired a significant increase in my tolerance for spicy food.

It was odd.

Yeah, after a few rather ...uncomfortable...episodes, some involving contacts and eyeballs, and the bathroom, I've started wearing surgical gloves to cut up the chili peppers I toss in so many of my dishes. I get a big box of them and find them handy for all sorts of stuff.

I've been thinking about starting to do this. That or use a damn fork and knife!
