I've never really thought of myself as patriotic.
Probably all goes back to how I was raised. My father was a communist. He felt that MLK's methods weren't aggressive enough, or something. Or so says my mom.
*shrugs*
I don't want to believe this news story. I don't want to believe any of it. I don't want to believe in that damn Iraq memo, and I don't want to believe that elections can be rigged, and I don't want to believe that people can fight to remove the civil rights of others. I don't want to believe that this story won't make big press in American media.
So maybe I'm more patriotic than I thought. Fortunately for me, I do believe all this, even though I don't want to. And all I want is for things to go to the way they should be, with as much honesty and openness as possible.
Heh. That's not going to happen, either. I need to get out of this world. Does anybody know if the Martians accept dual citizenship?

Yeah, yeah, I know it's (probably) just the way the BBC correspondent wrote it. It might as well be literal.
