Okay. I've figured out how to stop all those not-really-fake-lj-cuts going around.
Every time somebody erroneously labels a link a fake cut, I'll click, compliment them on whatever they've posted, and carefully inform them of the difference between links and links that look like lj-cuts.
This will eventually lead to people just posting plain links again and not misnaming them.
It'll be much more effective if other people with no lives and way too much time on their hands will help me in my task. Any volunteers?
(Incidentally, I seem to be typing faster. Cool.)

It also pisses me off because it drives me nuts when my M$N windows cascade (yes, I am aware I can turn it off) and a link opening in a new window can cause that to happen. And closing the window doesn't always rectify the situation. *Stabstab*
