Remember to vote in the styles poll.

If you're curious, I'll list the ones I voted for, and the ones I couldn't vote for.

My votes are:

* Color Play
* Newsworthy
* Nebula
* Bob
* Drifting

I didn't vote for (but wanted to):

Smooth Sailing (decided it was too much like component)
Flexible Squares (no room)
Statuesque (almost voted for it, but it made me want to scroll right)
Tranquility 2 (tough call here)
3 Collumn (I would've, but there's a typo in the name)
Balloons (cute idea, pictures took forever to load, so I decided against it)

Yes, I know S2 sucks. Can I help it if I want to get enthused about something?

I hope people will look at the entries in lj_stylecontest rather than just going by the pictures; some of the styles just don't work so well in practice, and some aren't immediately impressive.

Heh. Four out of five of my votes were for ones you jettisoned.

T2 is the only one I'd ever use.

I love it. So elegant! Such nice default colours!

I think Mobile Device Style is a great idea, and it's not likely to get the votes it deserves because it's not flashy. I also like divified because of its versatility. Although I really don't feel I know enough about any of the styles to be as informed a voter as I'd like to be.

I am pleased to say I didn't only vote for people I know. I tried not to let that bias me too much. Although I do trust people I know that when they say - I made this style flexible with the customization wizard that they mean that.

I'm actually surprised there were so many good entries. Some of them are really clever or creative. I expected more entries to be small modifications, but essentially the same ideas as I've seen before. While I doubt I'd ever use Newsworthy, I do think it's a clever idea. Color Play is cute. 3 collumn (with the unfortunate misspelling)... bunches of them really. I was pleased to see that I could easily find 5 to vote for and still want to vote for others. We are likely to get some nice new styles. I just hope that enough people look at the flexibility and not just the default look of the thing.

Divified, while versatile, looks like (though I'll admit it isn't, based on the HTML) a customised version of Opal. Like I pointed out to erinn, I think it was, it looks more like Opal than my current Opal layout does.

They ought to consider implementing the Mobile one as a standard for viewing LJ on WAP or on a PDA.

I couldn't use Opal, but given the modification options, it looks like divified is one of the only styles in the list of new ones that I might be able to use. If I'm reading the customization options right, you can totally remove the sidebar. The amount of flexibility through the customization wizard makes it great for people like me.

True. It was the only one that demanded I vote for it since it seemed like it wasn't a frivolity. Others seemed like things I'd have to friend people for just so I could avoid seeing that style if I visited their journal via bookmark.
