What really gets me about Daylight Savings Time is that it's so backwards.

It was originally started to save money during the war(s), so that factories making munitions would be open more in the daylight hours instead of in darkness. So various governments enacted laws to change the time of day. Fine, fine - but why didn't it ever occur to any of them to simply change factory hours?

Heh. I love daylight savings time. I love love love it. I am not disciplined enough to just change everything I *do* in my life to an hour different so I get more daylight. And unless *everyone* else (businesses, restaurants, theatres, traffic light programmers) chose to voluntarily do it, doing it myself would not be very effective in terms of schedules and planning and expectations and routines. (I am guessing - have not thought this out much, obviously.) But in general, I love daylight savings time and I feel great the whole time we live in it (except that first week or two when I am adjusting ;-) ).

too easy to just change the hours for some people, EVERYONE has to suffer, duh. this is the "government" we're talking about...
