I really hate prejudice, but I just found myself saying something prejudiced (and inappropriate, really) to a friend of mine.

Please call me on any prejudiced statement you see me make in the future. That's just not cool. Thank you.

Oh, and please try to explain why you think it's prejudiced. That's useful to know.

I have a little theory about prejudiced things... It's not wrong to say something is prejudiced if it stands a good chance of being true.

If I'm sitting on the subway and some gangster looking kid gets on and starts acting all gangsterly, it's not exactly negatively prejudical of me to say to my friend "that big black kid is probably a gangster and he's probably already been arrested 5 times. He's bad, stay away from him".

Nope - but it *is* prejudiced to say (without meeting somebody) "Oh, your coworker is black? I hope he isn't a thief/can do his job/got his job on his merits, not his race"
