Okay...

I've seen a new smiley lately, the <3 one. Took me a while to recognize that it's a heart. What is wrong with people? Can't they do a heart the old fashioned way, like this ♥?

For those who don't know how to do it. & hearts ; without the spaces. That's ampersand, hearts, semicolon. &hearts ; or & hearts; or &hea rts; or whatever, just without spaces. Just... stop using that stupid smiley.

Side note: Smiley or smily?

I prefer the <3 Half the time I just end up with a box for that other heart.

How about we just don't use hearts at all? *shudders*

It could be fun to rant about the stupidity of hearts... I bet that would stir people up!

On one of my other forums, someone used that and got everyone confused. For the next few days, everyone assed everyone... (the person used it in the context of "I <3 you") I dont believe I have ever laughed so hard in my life.

Yes, but that only shows up in certain fonts. While a less-than-three is a less-than-three in any vaguely Roman alphabet -- and it's not a smiley, it's miniature ASCII art. ;)

It's all about compatibility. You and your ♥ are in fact a Fiendish Plot of the Microsoftocracy. *nods*

But that's okay. I <3 you anyway. ;)

Only if you look at it one way. If you look at it the other way, it looks like...

...somebody mooning you?

I don't like the <3 I don't mind if someone uses it but I don't like to.

Oh, and I always use smiley, not smily.

Personally, I like to say "I leftbracketthree you." Just to be an utter ass. I hate when people say "I heart this" because I'll invariably respond "that's nice, but that sentence lacked, you know. A verb."
