So, I'm reading alternet (as I am wont to do)

And I come across this nifty little article on permanent detention of people at Guantanamo.

I know I remember posting about this before, but that was a while ago... Hm... *runs to google*

I'm seeing a lot of stuff about this, lots of editorials - not so much mainstream media. I know it's been published in mainstream media, but why isn't there more coverage?

The mainstream media is shackled by its need keep advertising money flowing. It causes them to be more conservative about what they will and won't talk about.

I'm sure there's probably more to it as well, but that's what first leaps into mind.

How about greedy, shadowy government figures?

(Now I have a vision of Cigarette Smoking Man standing outside a Halliburton building....)

Sorry, this is very off-topic, but - when did Kaffeeklatsch become an English word? o_O
