You know what's really bad?

When you want comments. And nobody comments. Or they do comment, but not on the entries you want them to comment on, they comment on some other entry that you don't really care about. And you want comments. And it's been hours since the last comment. And you want comments, but if you post saying you want comments you'll sound whiny and you still won't get comments where you want them, people will just comment on your whine post, not the very important and oh-so-interesting post that you wanted comments on in the first place! And you really want comments! And you know it's stupid, that people are reading, that they can't comment on everything (and don't want to, and don't need to) but you just want comments, dammit!

*sighs*

Yeah, I'm disabling comments on this post.

Forget that, it looks weird. *dramatic eyeroll* Don't comment here anyway, that's just letting the commentwhores (me) win.

Sorry, had to be done.

Bah. ::lets you win:: haha!!

But err, I do know the feeling. Not so much that I want comments, as the things I think are actually interesting, no one comments on. And then when I say boring shit, suddenly everyone comments. o_O

Haha. That happened to me with a random comment I made one night, before going to bed, about Martha Stewart. Then I got metaquoted, without knowing about it, and before I knew it, I got fandom_wanked, because someone on the metaquotes comm took issue with a comment I'd made quite randomly in my own LJ! It was highly amusing, and I felt famous for a moment. ;-)

But umm, yeah. When I think I say something funny, no one cares! haha.

I have completely and utterly given up on predicting which posts will get comments. I simply have not been able to figure out rhyme or reason. Except that generally the more I want comments, the less likely I am to get them. (Kind of like, say, sex).

But you *can* say something like "what do youse guys think of this?" without being horrible.

It happens to me, too. I often want commments because I see them as proof that people actually read what I posted.

I love getting comments. It's nice to someone else who's as much of a comment whore as I. It's very strange, I never know which entries will get comments or not, and often the most interesting entries (to me at least) are the ones that don't get commented on.
