Well, here's good news!

At least, it's good news for people like me, who support minority languages and dialects and such. Not so sure about the sillies of the world.

I love that because I feel it's important to retain languages so they don't become lost forever.

For example, in Nawlins, no on learns Creole anymore. Everyone speaks English all the time, and the language is dying. It's a shame.

Until very recently, there was no support for creoles anywhere. They really were considered nothings. *sigh*

I wonder how the numbers of people learning Klingon, Elivish, and any other popular languages would compare to some of the dying real ones.

No idea. You can't really learn either of those, of course - Elvish was never completed, and Klingon, while it has a wonderfully complex grammar and dictionary, also lacks many basic words.

It's nice to read that Irish is growing in popularity. I've always thought it sounded cool and gives me some hope that maybe people will stop believing that learning more than one language is evil and will make your brain a-splode.
