A girl survived a new rabies treatment. She's apparently one of only five people in the world known to have survived after the onset of symptoms. Apparently, one person dies of rabies every 15 minutes. *shudders* Remind me never to travel. Anywhere.

Of course, they do have some of the world's most lethal snakes and insects. Well, can't win 'em all.

The UK doesn't have rabies *or* dangerous creepy crawlies, and only one poisonous (and then not often fatal I don't think) snake. We win!

Damned right. Travelling abroad is dangerous. I always remember to shake the scorpions out of my ski boots before putting them on when I go to Switzerland!!

That girl didn't even travel (she lives within a couple hours of me!) - she was just bitten by a bat and didn't think to tell her parents about it or get treated. eep!
