Literalness and where it can screw you over miserably.

Example one: When you answer questions on the support board, there's a little blurb that says "Before answering somebody's question, read the support guide."

It took me weeks to break the habit of trying to skim that thing with EVERY answer. No joke.

Example two: Way back in September, a few weeks before their stated deadline of 9/30, the library started checking IDs to see if they were validated. The library at BC is run by a bunch of paranoid, power-hungry idiots. Moving on... Mine wasn't validated for that term, but the guard said "if the most recent one is spring, you can go in". My most recent validation was for summer. No, it had to be spring. Now, the card *was* validated for spring! But because she'd said "most recent", I didn't realize that I could just show her the spring validation, so I ended up waiting on line to get this validated.

Then I realized how stupid that was.

*grumbles*
