My father, displaced New Yorker, watched the game and cheered. He has aggressively not cared about sports for the majority of my life; I was taken to Red Sox games as a child with a slightly ironic sense of duty. He's very happy.
I think they did - since it was reported on various social media sites that NYC was one big block party last night. (I'm thankful I don't live near any of the places that became a block party.)
