Yeah, no, the seeds I put out showed significant lossage

either from birds or wind, can't tell.

I'll have to mulch. With any luck I can get a good amount of compost from the free compost program the city runs. Fingers crossed.

In other news, I did so much digging, guys. The nature of the beast, however, is that the harder I work, the less space is cleared when I'm done! Uprooting ragweed by the root is not for the faint of heart, but it's the only way to be sure.

I put a small amount of sugar water in the hummingbird feeder for the first time, though I don't expect any guests for a little while, especially not if I'm out there!

I'm going to have so much yardwork to do when I get back. Although, seven years into owning this place, the vast majority of yardwork I do is more and more leaning to destructive rather than constructive.
