Quick question

Does anybody know anybody hiring in NYC - within easy distance (half an hour walk, max) of public transportation - who really cares a lot about my ability to type 80+wpm and not at all about, say, my total lack of references and formal work experience? (Or practice writing cover letters.)

I am absolutely willing to try "networking", by which I mean "asking my friends", so here we are!

I was thinking the same, some will put you through an aptitude test thing to see you can work Word and Excel and such, then be largely happy.
