I'm still thinking about The Owl House
And first of all, I'm outright rejecting the "Collector goes away and sometimes visits" line. Nope, no way.
But secondly - is Flapjack really dead, or is he just mostly deadish? We know that the palismans Belos ate just sort of lurked in his mind as a separate entity. Well, Flapjack willingly merged with Hunter to save his life, and Hunter is a lot more like a palisman than Belos ever was, due to being a grimwalker.
So, new headcanon: Flapjack lives! (Inside Hunter's mind.) And with enough patience and focus, they can even still talk to each other.
Also, I didn't notice until I rewatched with Eva, but Eda's dad sure looks a lot like a Wittebane. This is, of course, because they're supposed to be descended from Caleb. That's also why they're so big on birds.
