I'm on the Poetry Foundation "Poem of the Day" email list

and often they have a little note in the email explaining why that day's poem was chosen.

The note for today's poem states that today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. It occurs to me that they might have to field some ridiculous complaint emails, because transphobes gonna transphobe, so I'm now trying to word a non-complaint email.

So far I've got "Thank you for mentioning the Transgender Day of Remembrance and its significance in today's email" and I might stop there.

I think that's really all you need to say. It's nice to have it brought up!

As it would be nice if we didn't need a Memorial Day.

Definitely fine to stop there.

You can say, “on behalf of myself and my grateful trans readers”, because I am not your only transgender readership. And we all like it when people make an effort.

Oh, okay. I figured the link would have been to their contact information if that were the purpose, but I did find their info and send them a quick thank you.
