My mother's been bulk buying international licorice

I do love licorice, but it's getting a bit alarming.

At least, unlike the yarn, it doesn't get tangled up if left carelessly out.

Red licorice is marginally acceptable, can't stand the smell or taste of black or anise.  BLECH licorice is what it should be called!

It's better with ammonium chloride on it.

Salt licorice increased my visceral understanding of the Christian concept of hell. The only way out of the horrible sticky death taste was through, and the more you chewed, the more was waiting for you.

The second piece was better, though.

Depends on what you mean by black licorice. If you mean proper soft "lakritsi", then yes. If you mean any kind of random "black candy", then no.

(if you mean salmiakki, which is sometimes called salty licorice even though it doesn't always even have licorice root in it, then maybe, depending on the brand)

I like licorice that's got interesting flavors over it, like cinnamon or apple. I found a store in Lincoln, Nebraska, that sells dozens of interesting flavors of licorice.

Besides chocolate, licorice is my favourite candy of all time, especially the salty salmiakk kind. I have no idea how to spell that word in English! Then again, I'm Scadinavian, so I suppose it's expected :D

Yum.

Licorice icecream is so good. Also Tiger icecream (orange and licorice).

It depends if it is the nice sweet lightly anise-y black licorice, or the unsweet strong bitter black licorice.

I actively like real licorice, but not anise-flavored jelly beans and sticks (which is what one sees marketed as licorice in the States), which is odd, because I like aniseseed and fennel. I could eat that stuff with the pandas on it and the creamy, Starburst 2.0 mouthfeel all day, and the sticks of the actual root are quite good.
