Welp, today I took the bus for the first time in over a year.

It was... frighteningly normal, actually. You'd think it'd be more of a Thing, but it was just a bus ride to Home Depot and back. I would not have done it except for the rain.

I remember the last bus ride I took, vividly. Most people weren't wearing masks yet, though I think we were all starting to think we ought to. The woman across from me did have a mask on... but she took it down to pick her nose!

Huh! Coincidentally, I was also at THD yesterday! Wednesday night my 20+ y/o microwave died and I had to get a replacement. Got a nice Panasonic for under $200.

Well, you know, you can't pick your nose THROUGH your mask.

:D

*invents nose-picking mask*

For others, of course, not for myself. That would be a sight to behold.

Enable. And answering that question made my nose itch, of course. *makes the mask*

Trying to think of how I'd advertise it..."Hidden flap allows for discreet picking without revealing what you are really up to". Like a nostril.

You're braver than me. I cannot do public transportation, be both shots in me for almost a month now or not. Or restaurants. Or entirely public-facing jobs. I've got my lines that can't be crossed, at least not yet.

(I mean, I work at two jobs where no one wears masks, not one person, so I just wear my own and am like "Fuck it, I've had both my shots" and only associate with up to 6-7 people at one place and maybe 20 pretty regular faces at the other and feel pretty well-protected as I keep my distance for the most part in both venues. But that and masking up to shop in stores, which I am doing on the regular now, are about as far as I can push things atm and not get all flail-y feeling inside.)
Edited (more info, typo (flail-y and fail-y are two different animals, indeed)) 2021-05-04 03:41 (UTC)
