It's not so easy to confuse with cassia cinnamon once you've seen both.

I am not mistaken about what I ordered or what I got.

I haven't had the sticks side by side, just the powdered. Definitely a difference in smell and taste, though.

True cinnamon is lighter in color and much more friable.

Cassia has its uses. But, yes, I prefer true cinnamon as much as possible.
