I always liked Peanuts but I was always sorry Schulz didn't really write Franklin, the one Black kid, as having much of a personality. Someone asked him about that many years later and he embarrassedly admitted he didn't really know any Black kids. Well, why didn't he go out and meet some? He lived in Petaluma, which is in Northern Calif. I live in Nor Cal too, I live in Oakland, there's tons of Black kids here!
