Today I'm heading over to the Homeschool Office to hand back Eva's letter and also our (belated) quarterly reports. The woman at the desk is sure to be pissy, but quite aside from the fact that I think it's a silly waste of time to have to hand those in personally rather than mailing them, I've been avoiding doing it pretty much to avoid her! I'll use the same line I used last time: "I'm not actually her mother, I'm here as a favor to my sister" and maybe this time she'll listen. (Well, every word of that is true.)

Damn it. Well, at least it turns out my shenanigans detector works. I'd figured out that there was something up with them - that they're waging a propaganda war against the Chinese government is obvious with the least amount of scratching at the surface - but at the time I went looking (about six years ago?) the Falun Dafa connection was not apparent.

And this explains the otherwise mysterious Epoch Times, too!

Huh, for me it's the other way around - I knew they were affiliated with Falun Dafa, but I didn't realize they were so blatantly propagandistic. And at the prices they charge...!

My mom said it was really gorgeous. I'm kind of pleased that any group's hail-mary propaganda pass in its protracted war against a repressive government is a gloriously beautiful dance performance, that commands high ticket prices.

Now, if they could just fix their apparently quite severe honesty problem.
