Well, Christmas in July is a thing I've heard of, but I was mostly just inspired by the optimistic box of Christmas cards we bought ages and ages ago and never mailed.
??? She's not even back from this year's camp yet, is she? So how can anyone (even her!) hold a valid opinion about whether she should go next year? Ask her next Spring and see how she feels about it then.
Alas, lately I'm barely even on Lj. You wouldn't believe the clusterfuck my life has become this past month - it's a damn good thing I give no credence to 'Mercury In Retrograde' or any such woo; else would I surely despair.
IMHO, all holiday cards pertain solely to their designated holidays. Sending them out-of-season for the sake of humor or irony is a stale jest at best, and at worst an incomprehensible one. The only people with a legitimate claim to celebrate 'Christmas In July' are those who are unlikely to live to see December; everyone else can wait their proper turn.

(Actually, she didn't get any of our letters, so next year I'm not sending her a thing if I can help it.)
