It never fails.

No sooner do I buy a kindle book and finish reading it then it goes on sale.

Oh, well. Murderbot Diaries every bit as good as everybody said, though the actual titles of the books leave something to be desired and they're a bit short. Will do actual review once I read book 2.

I'm glad you're enjoying them and look forward to the review.

Re length: well, they are novellas.

I hear you. I have a sentimental attachment to Wells as an author because she didn't get the kind of attention I felt she deserved for ages, but ... yeah. I had somewhat the same reaction to paying what I did for the latest Bujold Penric and Desdemona thing, even though I knew I was getting a novella, because I didn't like it nearly as much as most of its predecessors.

Aye; I liked Murderbot Diaries (I caught the first one on sale earlier, whew), but I'm not paying $10 for a short novel/long novella/novelette or whatever the word-count qualifies it for.

I didn't like Murderbot Diaries as much as the internet seemed to expect I would... wonder what I missed.
