For years, passengers on Washington State ferries have spent their trip working on communal jigsaw puzzles. It is a delightful, adorable thing.

Yes!!! It's beautiful in the Pacific Northwest, I love exploring nature and new towns/cities both, and I have fond childhood memories of assorted other ferries. I've been to the Oregon coast twice from a base in Portland and am planning a trip to Seattle, so why NOT mentally bookmark "ride a ferry" for trip ideas once I'm ready to go even further afield? Hmm...looks like a couple of short river trips in Oregon, but I don't see one across the Columbia, which is odd - I guess the bridges took over. Then up by Seattle there are lots!
