Hey, quick question.

The Association for Psychological Science. Somebody linked to them in the same comment they linked to The Blaze, and since I'm determined to be open-minded and shit I'm not rejecting both links out of hand, just one of them. So... is The Association for Psychological Science reputable, credible, legit? Or is it a right wing organization dedicated to the promotion of shoddy science?

Looks legit, based on the article abstracts on the website.

Reading the seattle PI article it looks like an offshoot of the APA that's more focused on lab psychology rather than couch psychology, so you may sometimes get some unfortunate evo-psych type explanations, but the data itself is likely to be reasonable.

there used to be some interesting ideas floating around the more anthropological side of things, but yeah, it got unfortunately co-oped.

I'm under the impression they're legit, but they're a splinter from the APA, and I still don't know what the basis of division was/is, so I don't know their politics.

They appear to be legit, and focused on actual science rather than politics.
