I've started in on covering all my paperbacks with contact paper.

I hate contact paper, just FYI, and I'm clearly going to have to buy a whole lot more of it.

Do you think it would be enough to just get the edges instead of the entire cover? Paper and cardboard tear from the outside in, after all.

I'd switch to book tape, personally, and I'd think just the edges might be good enough....

I'd be afraid that the borders of the contact paper won't stick properly/ will tear off once the book gets read, that dust may collect at the borders and make the contact paper come off, etc. unless the entire cover is, um, covered. But that may be my personal paranoia and not actually a real danger, I haven't actually tried it!
