My new favorite cookies are chocolate snickerdoodles, based on the post-punk kitchen recipe for mexican hot chocolate snickerdoodles (with ginger in place of the cayenne. and orange extract in place of chocolate extract.)

My old favorite cookies are oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and dried cranberries.

Without jelly. (I don't think I've ever had homemade shortbread with jelly, so I don't know how I like it.)

I'm mostly a purist wrt cookies: Nestle Tollhouse chocolate chip.

But I have to admit, my local grocery store's bakery's chocolate cookies are awfully wonderful, as are most of their baked goods I've tried.

I don't eat much chocolate nowadays (I'm not perfect, but I'm concerned about child slave labor, so....) but I found a third of a bag of chocolate chips and tossed them in with my peanut butter cookies. That's the way chocolate wants to be eaten.
