Evangeline and I saw a woodpecker this morning as we walked to school!

You can hear woodpeckers often enough, but I've never been able to see one before, so that was something special!

Lots of mockingbirds this year as well, and google agrees with my perception that their population in this area is increasing. They certainly are pretty, if noisy.
