Rick Perry Says Prayer, Not Gun Control, Will Keep American Children Safe From Violence

http://huff.to/SMmdBo

Of course, prayer didn't do a darn thing to help Texas' drought....

In fact, I'm thinking that prayer, as an approach to physical problems, is at best something to be added to actions taken in the physical world.

As a bonus....

Tim Donnelly, Republican Legislator, Says Guns Are 'Essential To Living The Way God Intended'

I'm not quite sure where he gets his reasoning from, I must admit.

Ah, Texas, land of Satan-fearers. I really have to say, I regard anyone who believes in Satan as not in their right mind, and thus not fit for public office, but nobody in their right mind would want to hold public office in Texas, so there's a problem there.

Ever notice how these Republicans will quote the Old Testament, they'll quote Paul, they'll even quote selected parts of the Bible, but they scrupulously avoid quoting Jesus? Especially the Sermon on the Mount. If their religion was true, they'd all be going to Hell for hypocrisy.
