*grumblegrumblewhine*

The following are the most popular interests. See the numbers? In the tens of thousands. But you can only see 500 people with those interests. You might as well not even bother adding them to your list, nobody is ever going to find you based on those interests.

Why, oh why, can't one search by more than one interest at a time? I know there's another community out there based on book icons, specifically those that have been made into movies, but with this system, the odds of finding a needle in a bottle of hay are infinitely better.

I've turned obsessive. And I should be studying. Sue me.

I notice more people like "Lord of the Rings" than "girls". There is a certain unfortunate logic to this.

Unless of course you are a girl, in which case it may be less obvious.

THere used to be an option where you could see which users listed the most common interests with yours.

What, you mean they don't have that anymore? I liked looking for people with that when I had a paid account.

That was my favourite LJ feature 'sides having lots of user pictures. I do wish they'd resurrect it.

I love how "livejournal" is one of them. :D I thought that was kinda a given..

There used to be a "similar interests" search for paid users. It's gone now, and I complained mightily becasue I used to love giong to see the people who had the MOST in common with me and peruse their journals. I usually read someone's journal for a while before I add them, and with this feature gone I lost my access to find those journals again.

Sucks.

It could be worse; you used to have to sift through the last 1000 people to update their journal to find a community with the same interest. At least now they're all in a list, even if it only shows the first 500..

::removes some of the more pointless interests from his listing, and makes others more specific...::

I think it's interesting that, while tens of thousands are interested in Photoshop, I'm one of the hundred or so (allowing for varying punctuation of the product name) to be interested in CorelDraw. Heh.
