Pat's Papers has two videos up on Indian Pole Gymnastics, or Mallakhamb.

Wikipedia says there are three varieties, including Rope Mallakhamb and Hanging Mallakhamb.

That's pretty amazing. You should definitely watch those videos.

LJ just reformatted my friend's page on me, and I initially misread the tiny blue print of "Rope Mallakhamb" as "Pope Maintenance." I think if we just change his oil every five thousand masses he should be okay.

Directly related: I work for a construction company that does a lot of roof repair. This means we flash a lot of pipes.

My trigger finger when typing means that instead I occasionally send out the order to "flash pope".

When driving up a hill and seeing the sign saying "Slow Vehicles Use Flashers," I always had a mental image of a big flatbed truck with two guys in raincoats and boots standing on the back, alternately opening and closing their raincoats. Existence or lack of additional costume depended on my sense of humor at the moment; one can have *much* fun with sock puppets.
