Awww! The squirrel thing was totally adorable! It is my contention that squirrels are in the process of domesticating themselves, and in a few thousand years will have moved in with us and be thought of much like cats.
Made a tourist's day a few weeks ago by putting some popcorn on my hand and holding it out for a squirrel. She could not BELIEVE it, and kept trying to make "be still" motions at me while s l o w l y creeping forward to take a pic. Of course, the squirrel wasn't scared of humans at ALL.
Scared of pigeons, though. Spent five minutes frantically trying to jump over their heads without getting flapped at when they, seeing me for a chump, piled on to get THEIR free popcorn.
