Only thing that really surprises me in that article is the mention of the homeless being able to "sell" their plasma. (I thought blood stocks were a matter of donation since the AIDS/hepatitis scares?) But yes, I've been hearing similar predictions for ages, and seeing them inch closer to reality gives me no joy at all. Some of the comments to that article are REALLY scary, such as the one about foreclosures.
