Awwwww!
Today we were at Kidz Cook, making green pasta with alfredo sauce. (The baby had plain pasta - she likes to be involved. I'm already trying to decide when she'll be old enough to participate a little, because she's clearly aching for that day!)
The kids were all clustered around the sauce as the milk was poured in, and I guess this triggered something, because Ana pipes up with "OH! When my mommy gets home, she gives me milk. I get mama milk."
Cue the adult next to us: "That's... uh... awesome."
Ana seems to be over her thing with Johanna, too, which is great. Just great. Now I have to figure out how to keep the baby calm during Animal Time again. She loves the bird, likes the guinea pigs - but is inclined to wander off if we just sit down, and can get in the way. So she has to be up, but that's apparently not acceptable either. Gah. But it really is great :)
And, and, and, AND the baby has learned a new sign - "go up". (I know, that doesn't mean "go up" at all, but it does to her, all right?. I asked her before we left if she wanted to go up, and she mimicked the sign to me, banging on her chest. (Well, it's a start, anyway.)

And I think younger kids tend to want to develop faster than firstborn ones--not that they always *do* so, but because they see someone so close to their own age doing all these fun things like walking and talking and cooking and are more inclined to emulate them.

And I started using the sign to mean that, because it made sense, especially for going on the back.
