He who would sup with the devil must use a long spoon....

*thinks*

Baby spoons have really long handles.

Does this mean that babies are the devil? Or that the devil is a baby? Or maybe that if you sup with the devil he'll feed you as though you were a baby? Maybe we're devils compared to babies, and they're the ones using long spoons against us? Do long spoons work against creatures of the dark? Maybe iron long spoons protect us against the Good People, and silver long spoons protect us against werewolves, and.... I don't know.

Does any creature of the night flee at the sight of translucent orange plastic? Because those are the only long spoons I've got that are clean, I think.

That title makes me think of a story about heaven and hell that used to be on packages of Clestial Seasonings herbal tea. The Lord shows a man two different rooms; one room is hell and the other is heaven. In hell, everyone is gathered around a pot of soup, holding spoons with really long handles but everyone is unhappy and malnourished. In heaven it's the same pot of soup, same long-handled spoons, but everyone is happy and well-fed.
"Why the difference?" asks the man.
"Because," replies the Lord, "In heaven these are people who have learned to feed eachother."

You got me thinking about that, and I went to go check. Topher's spoons (which, incidentally, got used 2 times. He hates purees, really...) have the SAME length in the handle as my spoons. I think they just SEEM long because of the little spoon bit. But, then I realized, thats because of who, generally, uses them. Baby's mouth, care-givers hand. Normal length handle...with a tiny spoon section. :D

And that is why eating is totally Topher's responsibility, when it doesnt involve my boobs. all I do is chop and serve these days, sometimes steaming. :-p

If you want to see the new pictures of Topher, I have them hiding here. (http://community.livejournal.com/nouglykides/4913.html#cutid1) :D
