Eva, Ava...

My poor nieceling is going to have to respell her name her whole life thanks to not being Evie.

*taps foot*

Maybe I can just start calling her by her full name? Here, Evangeline, do you see the froggy? There we go! Oh, Evangeline, don't do that!

Clearly, I can't just keep calling her "baby" all the time - sooner or later, that'll be painfully not working. I could substitute some *other* cutesy nickname - Peanut, Ducky, Spider, Bunny, Kitten, Kookaburra....

But I think Evangeline is the way to go. Cuz it's her name.

(Ana's reached "resigned acceptance" regarding *her* real name. She doesn't like acknowledging that she's got two names, Ana and Angelique.)

Damn Neon Genesis Evangelion will forever make me think of mecha whenever I hear the name Eva.
I'd also like to say that my grandpa's nickname for me is Nasty. :)

That could be either of them, though. How 'bout Lina? But I'm not quite sure I see the problem with calling here Eva or Evie...

Evie worked for the female lead character in the Mummy movies.

Both have fantastic names for when they're older.

A new and unusual nickname

Evangeline is a cool name as is Angelique.

BUT I have a good idea for a new nickname:

You can call Eva Vange, if you like.

It would make people think of Jessica Lange, and be very sophisticated and she can grow into it.
